GST to be Part of ICSE Syllabus from 2020 The ICSE board has taken a decision to add goods and service tax (GST) in the Class X mathematics syllabus. The board has decided to remove VAT from the syllabus since the tax has been abolished. The Council For Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has stated that this change will be implemented from 2020. Sujoy Biswas, Principal of Rammohan Mission School said, “Since VAT serves no purpose, it has been discontinued. Students who will be promoted to Class X in 2019 will be offered the new chapter and will be tested on it in 2020.”The educational community has welcomed the change as it will help the students pursuing the commerce stream and who wish to take up a career related to the commercial activities.  The various school principals acknowledged that the council is continuously working on the upgradation of the syllabus according to the current events.
